Troubleshoot & Repair Your FoilThis is my next pick. This comes from the Salle Boise website. Here is a step-by-step guide to basic foil troubleshooting on the strip, taking apart, rewiring, and putting a foil back together. (Hit the "How To" link at left.) www.salleboise.com/how_to.htm

Duellist UKDuellist began on the 25th of July 1988 in Chiswick, London. The company was founded by Bruce Dickinson, multi-millionaire and lead singer of the rock group "Iron Maiden". Bruce was a competitive International fencer who travelled round the globe. Slinging his guitar on one shoulder and throwing his fencing bag over the other, he fenced in more salles than arguably anyone else. Bruce quickly realised that his beloved sport was screaming for him.Duellist Home Page:www.duellist.com/cgi-bin/fencing.cgi

LongBlade's Site of the Week:(Just something at random that strikes my fancy!)Here's my first pick. An old frend of mine runs the salle. I help them with coaching, armory work, and running tournaments. If you look hard, you'll find a really nasty, sweaty picture of me next to the tableau after winning a tournament! *LOL* Kyle coastalbendfencingsociety.com/ Kyle, You might want to get them to make their name more well known down there. I Went to TAMU-CC for 4 years and didn't do any fencing. I really wanted to, though, but couldn't find anywhere to fence. I tried to start a club of my own at the school, but after dumping a year of time and about $200, nothing precipitated. If they're a USFA member, they aren't listed on the website.

Jay: You probably couldn't find them because they were a student only club at Tuloso-Midway Middle & Jr. High School for the first year of their existance. When were you at TAMU-CC? CBFS has just celebrated their first year as an open club in October 2004, and held their first tournament; the Coastal Bend Mixed Open in June 2004. They have worked very hard to get their name out. CBFS has links in the CC Caller-Times community web calendar, is listed in the local telephone book, has held many public demonstrations, has had 2 articles written about them in the CC Caller-Times paper, 6 in the Nueces County Record-Star newspaper, appeared in 3 features on local television, and has links on several Gulf Coast Division and South Texas Division sites. They are a USFA recognized member club. In fact, they have already been awarded two $500 equipment and development grants from the USFA for bringing fencing to an area where there was no fencing previously. Why they aren't listed on the USFA website... only USFA can tell you that! I assure you they have been contacted many times about it! Oh! That explains a lot. I was there from Spring 99- Spring 04 (I guess that would be 5 years...). I'm going to be down there the week after Thxgiving. Do you know if they're going to be meeting then?

Jay: They meet pretty much every Monday and Thursday night from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. except for major holidays falling on those dates, and during Nationals. I'm sure they'd be more than delighted to have you join in while you're there. Directions and contact information are on their website. Kyle
