Richard Bonehill
THE president of Truro Fencing Club who also starred in Hollywood blockbusters including Star Wars has died.
Richard Bonehill was the former head coach at Truro Fencing Club and had won international competitions in the sport at various levels.
He also had a film and TV career which saw him taking roles such as a Stormtrooper in the original Star Wars trilogy and as Nien Nunb who flew the Millennium Falcon in Return of the Jedi.
Mr Bonehill also had roles in Doctor Who, Robin of Sherwood and ‘Allo ‘Allo.
Truro Fencing Club announced Mr Bonehill’s death on Twitter stating: “We are sad to announce the sudden passing of our President and former Head Coach Richard Bonehill. A great leader and an inspiration.”
Jon Salfield, head coach at Truro Fencing Club, Tweeted: “RIP Richard Bonehill my oldest, strangest, most charismatic and inspirational friend.”
