SWIFA 2.5 will be held on a date and in a location to be determined.

In no particular order, these are the squads remaining in the meet at the abrupt ending of SWIFA #2:

Nothing official yet, but we could hold it along with the Cat Fight in San Marcos on December 16 & 17.

The strips and equipment would already be down, the referees would already be there, and Texas State's club President, Amy Crawford said they could do it.

SWIFA 2.5 Epee and Foil events will be held at Texas State on Saturday, 12/16/06 @ 3:00 P.M. (Close of registration)

ATTENTION! This tournament WILL NOT be held at Jowers Gym! It will be held in the Texas State University Student Recreation Center at the corner of Sessom Drive and Academy Street. For driving directions go to: www.maps.txstate.edu/driving_maps/reccenter_printer.html

Free Parking:
After turning onto Academy Street from Sessom Drive (Making the curve, actually), make the first left on Moore Street and left into the parking area behind (North side) the Student Recreation Center.

Special rule for SWIFA 2.5 - Squad Continuity:

Since SWIFA 2.5 is a continuation of the SWIFA #2, competing squads must include no less than 2 of the original 3 (or 4 with an alternate) squad members at the SWIFA #2.

Failure of a squad to participate or to meet the requirement of the minimum number of original members of the squad at the SWIFA #2 will forfeit the match and be awarded last place among the remaining squads, and in the event of a tie (if there is a double forfeiture), will be awarded final placement according to their indicators at the end of the pools.

Based on the available dates that do not conflict with major tournaments and school Christmas break it appears that we will have to hold SWIFA 2.5 along with the SWIFA #3 at U of H on January 27, 2007.

We did not hear any opposition to the new date from the remaining teams from SWIFA #2.

U of H has already reserved the gym with their Rec Sports department, so it looks like it's a "GO".
