Age Requirements:
* Y14 fencers must be born between 1993 and 1996.
* U16 (Cadet) fencers must be born between 1992 and 1995.
* Senior event fencers must be 13 years of age prior to January 1, 2008.

Waiver of Liability/Consent to Treatment Forms:
ALL fencers MUST sign a Waiver of liability and consent for medical treatment form. A parent or legal guardian MUST sign for a minor. A coach CANNOT sign the Waiver for a minor. Waivers are downloadable from the forms section of the South Texas Division web site: www.southtexasdivision.org/

Entry Fees:
INDIVIDUAL EVENT FEE: $30.00 first event, $10.00 each additional event.
TEAM EVENT FEE: $50.00 - Required only if fence-offs are needed.

Equipment:
USFA rules apply to clothing and equipment required.

Preregistration Dates:
Preregistration opens on 03/16/2008.
Preregistration closes on 04/10/2008.

Veteran Qualification for 2008 Summer Nationals

VETERAN: Any current competitive USFA member born 1967 or earlier.

A veteran who has competed in any NAC during the 2007-2008 fencing season has qualified for their Veteran Event/Age Group event at the 2008 Summer Nationals (otherwise you must fence in your Division qualifier or in your Section Championships).

Veterans qualify by fencing in one of the following:

• 2008 Section Championships OR

• 2008 Division qualifying competition for Division II and/or Division III Championships {only those with a “C” classification or lower (D, E, or U) may compete} OR

• Any NAC During the 2007-2008 season.

*Fencer must state on the Summer National entry form the competition by which he or she complied with qualification criteria and which Veteran Event/Age Group they are entering.*

A couple of changes have been made to the Junior and Senior Team qualifications:

JUNIOR & SENIOR TEAMS - Members of the Junior & Senior Teams must be the appropriate age (there is no classification requirement). There are no Composite Teams allowed at the Qualifier or Summer Nationals.

*** Note Change*** Junior & Senior Teams must give written notice to a Division officer about tentative teams. The deadline is Monday, April 7 by 5:00 P.M. in order to have an idea if fence-offs are needed. Submission of notice by e-mail is acceptable.

*** Note Change*** If sufficient teams register to require fence-offs, they will begin as strips and referees become available after 10 A.M. on Sunday, April 13.

Proxies may be faxed to the Division Secretary by 5:00 P.M. on April 11, 2008 at [phone]. They may also be submitted in person before the start of the meeting on Saturday April 12, 2008, so they can be verified before the meeting.
