Here is an idea I bounced around a few days ago on the Gulf Coast Forum:
As a diversion from the usual fencing tournament, one idea I have played around with in my head was a purely invitational tournament, exclusively reserved for the fencing coaches and instructors.
Naturally it would have to be at a point on the calendar when everyone is not busy gearing up for something like the JOs or the summer Nationals, but it might be fun.
Naturally, none of these events would be large enough for a serious USFA ranking and besides, being a true invitational, it would be ineligible for them anyway.
They could fence any and all weapons that they teach.
We could all help out and cheer on our own coaches.
In time we might attract coaches from the other divisions and it could become quite the social affair. Something to take those tensions down a notch.
Thoughts? Ideas?
